The Truth of Why I Love Christmas!!!

So most people who have known me for awhile, know what I love! Funny to say in every area, I share my life with people so they will know at some point or another.

One important reason is the gift of love God gave us by granting us mercy that no one else in the world could give and there is not a happening that could better describe such a deep, merciful love.  Baby Jesus, in a manger, in Bethlehem, born to save the world.  Hiding from king Herod. In the end we know why Jesus came, He was sent by God, giving His one and only son to save us, yes you, me, and the rest of this world.  Sinful, human nature.  It still amazes me and puzzles me after hearing that story and accepting God close to 17 years ago.

One of my favorite parts of Christmas is joy.  As most of you know, I am a pretty positive person.  This is one time where I am energized and able to be more joyful than ever.  I love it because people just can't help smile even in the hardest moments because of this holiday, because it gives us a big hope that people cannot destroy for there is no other story like it.  But I seriously love the joy you can bring to every person through this holiday, it's this window of opportune time that no one can deny because they, inside, want that joy as well!

Another favorite part is love.  Love is something every person wants.  The deepest part of them cries out for it.  I have had the opportunity to intern in a homeless shelter this past semester and in my last semester of college.  I noticed as I planned a Christmas event at the shelter for the men and women, that they were excited.  Why, to be loved, to be spent time with, to sing carols, given Christmas cards to.  One thing we need to do is love the people that surround us, but then again look out for times to help hurting families, people on the streets, give a simple Christmas card out! Encourage, share a piece of love with someone, really that will move mountains.  Funny enough I was working one day at the Target downtown and someone at the shelter who went to the Christmas caroling event who had gotten a Christmas card, told me thank you for the card a week after and told me how much that meant to him.  I was in awe of how a simple piece of paper (literally construction paper & marker) could make a difference.  Get out there, see what God is speaking to you, and try it out, it might be worth more than you think ; )

Last of all, in the midst of trials, or pain you can still find joy.  Every person has family issues, problems, but try to overlook it, pray, LET GO AND LET GOD take care of it, because you don't want to miss out on the love that is found in this season and the joy that blesses us so much!

I wish all of you a Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!

Live. Laugh. Love.

Feliz Navidad <3
